A breast milk leak catcher is a nifty little breastfeeding device designed to slip in your bra and catch any leaking milk while you’re pumping or nursing. Unlike a nipple shield, which puts pressure on your nipple to stop leakage, a milk collector doesn’t do that – but instead catches the excess breast milk before it falls into your nipple and creates a wet spot on your shirt or pants. These handy devices are available for purchase individually or as a part of our custom Haakaa New Mum Essentials Bundle.

Unlike nipple shields, which are often made of a thick plastic that can feel uncomfortable on your nipples, most milk collector shells are soft and thin, and they come in a range of colors to match your bra. They feature a round bottom piece that fits over your areola and nipple, with a hole in the middle to stick your nipple through. A second dome-shaped piece then fits over the bottom ring to protect your nipple and collect the leaky breast milk from your nipple during pumping or breastfeeding.

The milk collected from your nipple will then either go into a reusable breast milk storage bag or the included disposable breast milk storage pouch, and you can store it in the fridge or freezer until you’re ready to feed it to baby. Some women find that using a milk collector stimulates their milk supply, while others don’t – but remember that everyone’s lactation journey is different, and what works for one woman may not work for another. breast milk leak catcher
